Shahbaz Ahamad is an Indian all-rounder who provides stability as a left-handed middle-order batter and offers control as a slow left-arm orthodox spinner from Bengal. Across his First-Class career, he has accumulated 2,000 runs at a strong average of over 40 and taken 125 wickets. Internationally, he holds three ODI and two T20I caps, and he was a member of the Indian squad that secured the gold medal at the 2022 Asian Games. Shahbaz began his Indian Premier League (IPL) career with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (2020–2023) before spending the 2024 season with the Sunrisers Hyderabad. During the 2025 mega auction, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) acquired him for ₹2.40 Crore to bolster their spin-bowling all-rounder options. While he saw limited action in his debut 2025 campaign with LSG, making three appearances, the franchise officially retained him at his ₹2.40 Crore salary ahead of the 2026 season to maintain depth in their lower-order finishing and spin departments.
